Albatros D.I.

Plastic Model Kit by Roden
The appearance of the Albatros D.I at the end of the summer of 1916 was a nasty surprise for the British and it was clear that their de Havilland DH2 had immediately lost its advantage. Allied aces such as James McCudden noted the outstanding capability of the Albatros D.I and gave due respect to its fighting prowess in the air. In the fall of 1916, Jasta 2 under the command of famed ace Oswald Boelcke forced the air arms of the opposition to set about improving their own equipment. The active service of the Albatros D.I was quite short, because already at the end of 1916 it was being supplanted by the more modern Albatros D.II. However, some of the machines from the 50 produced in total, survived to the last year of the Great War as training planes.
Kit features structurally detailed fuselage and wings, molded in high quality polystyrene for minimal flash or mold marks.
Scale 1/32. Length 9.1" Wingspan 10.5". Skill level 2. Glue and paint required (not included).

RAF S.E.5a Wolseley Viper

Plastic Model Kit by Roden
The history of the most successful British fighter of the First World War began in 1916, when the Royal Aircraft Factory's talented engineers, H.P. Folland and J. Kenworthy, decided to employ the new French 150 h.p. Hispano Suiza engine in a plane of new design. The first flight of the prototype RAF S.E.5 in the hands of test pilot F.W. Goodden took place towards the end of 1916, and in April 1917 the first machines were delivered to 56 Squadron of the Royal Flying Corps. Later the design was modified; it received the more powerful 200 h.p. Hispano Suiza engine and became the RAF S.E.5a. In the United Kingdom the license for construction of the Hispano Suiza engine was acquired Wolseley Motors Ltd. An insignificant number of the S.E.5a had the Wolseley Adder engine which, actually, was a copy of the Hispano Suiza, but it too appeared unreliable. Wolseley Motors engineers were obliged to improve the basic Hispano Suiza design. Externally similar to its predecessor, the new engine was named the Wolseley Viper. The capacity of the engine remained constant, however now its running during flight was stable and reliable. So at last, at the end of 1917, the Royal Flying Corps had received the right machine to gain an advantage in the sky. The RAF S.E.5a with the Wolseley Viper engine differed somewhat from the earlier version, its radiator being noticeably more rectangular.
Kit features structurally detailed fuselage and wings, molded in high quality polystyrene for minimal flash or mold marks.
Scale 1/32. Length 7.8" Wingspan 10". Skill level 2. Glue and paint required (not included).

Albatros D.III Fokker F.I Fokker D.VI

Albatros D.III

Plastic Model Kit by Roden
The appearance of the Nieuport 11 forced designers at the Albatros firm to improve on their existing type. The design of the fuselage was not significantly changed, because it was already progressive for its time - in comparison with the fabric-covered frames of other planes, its plywood skin was heavier, but much stronger. The principal changes were made to the wing, taking as its example the French design. Altogether the various design changes allowed the engineers to manage the weight of the plane to give it an opportunity to fight the extremely light Nieuport 11 on equal terms.
Kit features structurally detailed fuselage and wings, molded in high quality polystyrene for minimal flash or mold marks.
Scale 1/32. Length 11.7" Wingspan 9". Skill level 2. Glue and paint required (not included).

Fokker F.I

Plastic Model Kit by Roden
The story of the most famous plane of the First World War, the Fokker Dr.1, outstanding creation of the famous and talented Dutch designer Antony Fokker, would be incomplete without the story of its pre-production model, the Fokker F.I. Although only three were built, it left an indelible trace in the history of air fighting in the Great War.
Kit features structurally detailed fuselage and wings, molded in high quality polystyrene for minimal flash or mold marks.
Scale 1/32. Length 7.1" Wingspan 8.8". Skill level 2. Glue and paint required (not included).

Fokker D.VI

Plastic Model Kit by Roden
The majority of all 60 D.VIs built were delivered to the Kampf Einsitzer Staffeln, special units created mainly for the intercepting of Allied bombers. The Fokker D.VI which had an air-cooled engine and could take-off without delay was a good choice for this role. But the climbing ability of the D.VI was still poor and the fighters were dispersed in the Alsace-Lorraine region where bombing raids were less frequent. Other machines were delivered to the training units; and Austria-Hungary purchased seven aircraft of this type. After the end of the war at least two D.VIs were tested in France and the USA.
Kit features structurally detailed fuselage and wings, molded in high quality polystyrene for minimal flash or mold marks.
Scale 1/32. Length 7.1" Wingspan 9.4". Skill level 2. Glue and paint required (not included).

Fokker Dr.I B-17F Memphis Belle A-1E/AD-5 Skyraider

Fokker Dr.I

Plastic Model Kit by Roden
The Fokker Dr.I's compound structure consisted of a cable-braced steel tube fuselage, and cantilever wings with wooden ribs and single main box spar, all covered by fabric and plywood panels. All this made the construction very light in weight. The machine was equipped with a standard 110 h.p. Oberursel URII air-cooled engine, enabling the aircraft to demonstrate excellent flying qualities. The Fokker Dr.I was not especially fast, but its maneuverability, due to its small dimensions, was considered unequaled at that time.
Kit features structurally detailed fuselage and wings, molded in high quality polystyrene for minimal flash or mold marks.
Scale 1/32. Length 7" Wingspan 9". Skill level 2. Glue and paint required (not included).

Douglas A-26 A/B Invader C-130J Hercules C-119C Flying Boxcar

Douglas A-26 A/B Invader

Plastic Model Kit by Italeri
The Douglas A-26 entered the Second World War at a relatively late date: the first eighteen examples were, in fact, sent to the European front in the summer of 1944. However, shortly afterwards, the Invader demonstrated its worth, and on the cease fire the troops equipped with these planes had flown more than 11,000 missions. Also in the Pacific, in only a few months, the Invader consolidated its fame as the crew’s favourite bomber. After a short period of time, the A-26 found itself fighting again in Vietnam. It then became the average standard bomber of the USAF used in the War in Korea. It was in this conflict that the A-26C variant was more widely used; characterised by P&W R-2800-27 engines and a glass nose, which contained the Norden bombsight. Many examples were successively supplied to smaller air forces, which kept them in service until the middle of the 70’s.
Kit features cockpit including control panel, realistically molded engine nacelles, detailed landing gear. Waterslide decal markings included for:
1: A-26B-552nd BS, 386th BG, Beaumont, France 1944
2: A-26B-554th BS, 386th BG, France 1945

C-130J Hercules

Plastic Model Kit by Italeri
While it maintains the familiar lines of the Hercules, a common sight in the world’s skies for decades now, the C-130J has been extensively re-designed. The most visible change lies in the use of two 4700 HP Rolls-Royce (Allison) AE2100D3 engines, with six-blade composite-material propellers that ensure silent running and low fuel consumption. High performance features include an excellent rate of climb and an extended range of action thanks to the new engines. An equally important development is the avionics: the cockpit, in fact, is equipped with new digital instruments and a Head-Up Display that provides the pilot with a constant stream of data without him having to look away from the cockpit window. The C-130J is steadily becoming the standard transport aircraft in many NATO countries.
Kit features detailed payload area. Rear loading ramp can be modeled in the open or closed position. Forward crew access ladder can be fixed in the open or closed position. 4 detailed engines. Window glazing. Waterslide decal markings included for:
1: US Maryland Air National Guard
2: Italian Air Force, 46 Brigatta Aerea
3: Royal Air Force, Lyneham

C-119C Flying Boxcar

Plastic Model Kit by Italeri
Developed by Fairchild from the previous C-82 Packet, the C-119 was one of the most important transport planes of the Fifties. The C-119C model had two 28 cylinder Pratt&Whitney four row radial R-4360 engines and it was distinguished from later types partly by its single wheel front undercarriage and different tail design. Production of the C-119C was speeded up when the Korean War broke out and these planes were soon being used for most of its transport missions. At the end of the war, a large number of the planes were supplied to the French, who used them widely in Indochina.
Kit features detailed engine nacelles with rotating propellers, Beautifully detailed cockpit. The crew entry door can be fixed in the open or closed position. Bulkhead, cargo bay and control panels have molded-in details. The rear cargo doors can be fixed in the open or closed position with loading ramps for the open position. Detailed landing gear struts.
