Standard Surface Shipping/handling charges are just $8.95 per order to addresses in the continental U.S. There's no minimum order. (No maximum, either!) Standard ground or air shipping/handling to AK, HI, PR, GU, and other U.S. territories outside the continental U.S. is $8.95 plus the actual freight costs. How long will it take to get my order? Shipping days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We ship most (That's MOST, not all, even though we try our best) orders within 3 shipping days. Allow an extra 5 to 7 business days for needlecraft kits. Standard ground shipping may be via our choice of UPS or U.S. Postal service. To see a UPS ground time-in-transit map, click here. We hold orders paid by personal or business check for three weeks to allow for check clearance. Orders paid by money order are shipped as soon as possible.
Please note that while we do ship over 90% of orders within one shipping day, we can't guarantee that all items will be in stock at all times. This is the real world, folks, and sometimes we run out of stuff.
Items containing model rocket engines or ignitors must be shipped via USPS Parcel Post surface transport. Allow two weeks or more for delivery. Shipping those products by air is illegal.
PLEASE allow a couple of extra business days beyond when you think your order should arrive before contacting us for a "where is it?" report. The extra time our staff must take to manually trace an order that's not really lost or late, and communicate the resulting non-news back to you just delays someone else's shipment and adds to our costs, which will eventually just increase everyone's prices. One of the pleasures of this business is that nothing we sell is really important. It's all supposed to be fun stuff, so relax, let us do our job, and confine your worries to the things in life that really matter. We're doing our absolute best to serve you , and our best is pretty darned good.
There are many factors which determine which shipping method we use, including size, weight, and type of merchandise being shipped. We try to get your order to you as quickly as possible without incurring high costs that might eventually require us to raise our shipping/handling fee.
Returns, Backorders, Declined Credit Cards, Address Errors, Fraud
Returns: We will happily and promptly refund unopened or defective merchandise within 30 days of purchase, including domestic U.S. UPS ground or U.S. Mail ground return shipping charges on defective items. YOU MUST Email Help@UptownSales.com for authorization prior to returning any merchandise. Be sure to include your invoice or order number, the item stock number, and the reason for the return. We will issue a return authorization to the purchaser. Return authorizations become void 30 days after they are issued. If returns are not at our warehouse by that date, no credit or refund will be issued. All returns, including late returns and items returned without prior authorization, become the property of Uptown Sales Inc.
Extended return window for Christmas gifts: The return window for orders placed between November 10th and December 16th extends until January 15th.
READ THIS: Returned non-defective merchandise which have any factory seals broken or factory wrapping removed will be subject to an uresellable item fee of no less than 50% of the item's invoice price, and possibly total denial of refund, depending on the item's condition. Other non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Radio-Control units or Radio-Controlled Items are not returnable or refundable for any reason once any package seal has been broken. Contact the manufacturer directly about any problems or defects. We can not service these items. Garments which have had any hang tags removed, even if they have been replaced, may not be returned for any reason. We do not re-sell once-opened merchandise as new. Pack the items you are returning carefully and be sure to insure them. Returned items damaged in shipping will not be refunded until insurance claims have been settled.
Billing: We normally bill your credit card only when your order is packed and ready for shipment. It is then shipped the same or next business day. However, we reserve the right to hold orders for as long as three weeks post-billing.
Backorders: Occasionally an item will be temporarily out of stock. We do not charge additional shipping on backorders. We will maintain an open backorder for up to 90 days or until your credit card expires, whichever comes first. Check-with orders will be refunded when the backorder period expires. You may cancel or extend your backorder at any time.
Declined Credit Cards: We reserve the right to back-bill you up to $5.00 nuisance fee if your credit card is declined for any reason except error on our part.
Address Correction: We reserve the right to back-bill you up to $7.00 for address correction fees incurred if you give us an incomplete or incorrect shipping or billing address.
Suspicious or Fraudulent Orders:We reserve the right to require prepayment by money order for all or any part of any order. All suspicious orders are referred to the appropriate government agencies, both United States and foreign.

Outside the Continental U.S.? Read This Section Completely
We accept orders for model rocket starter sets, engines or ignitors for shipment only to continental US, US APO and FPO, Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories and possessions destinations. Orders containing these items must be shipped via USPS Parcel Post surface transport.
Because of high attempted fraud rates, we accept international orders to only the following destinations:
- U.S. APO and FPO
- U.S. Territories & Possessions
- Canada
- Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Bermuda, Denmark, France, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechenstein, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
Because we cannot know the precise weight and volume of an order until it is packed for shipment, we require credit card payment for all international orders to the above-listed locations so that we can bill the correct amount for shipping once the order is packed.
Shipping/Handling Charges for International Orders
The standard shipping/handling charge to U.S. APO and FPO addresses is $8.95. Shipping/handling charges to AK, HI, PR, GU, and other U.S. territories and possessions outside the continental U.S. is $8.95 plus the actual freight costs.
Shipping/handling charges to all other destinations outside the U.S. and its territories is $10.00 plus actual freight and insurance costs. This covers our paperwork costs and gets your order to the destination country, but does not include taxes, duties, or other associated fees that may be assessed after your shipment leaves our premises.
We ship internationally via USPS Global Express Mail when possible. Certain materials including but not limited to paint and glue cannot be shipped by air, and so will be shipped by surface mail. We do not ship model rocket motors or ignitors internationally.
Our online shopping cart does not attempt to calculate international shipping charges. Your actual shipping/handling costs will definitely be higher than the $8.95 standard continental U.S. shipping shown on our shopping cart. Because each order is unique in weight and dimension, shipping charges will always vary.
Suffice to say that shipping anything internationally is expensive.
Please don't ask us to estimate or pre-compute international shipping/ handling charges for you.Because each order is unique, the only way to determine the amount of shipping charges for any order is to pack, weigh, and measure it. We're sorry, but we cannot afford to do this just for informational purposes. To do so would drive our cost structure to an unacceptably high level. You must place your order and accept billing for whatever the shipping charges happen to be. If you would like to estimate your actual freight charges on your own, rate charts are available online at the The United States Postal Service web site.
You must pay any and all other taxes, duties, and other associated fees, which may be substantial. Typically, you will need to pay these to the delivering agent upon delivery. Contact your country's customs office before ordering. We have no way to predict what various import duties, taxes, and other surcharges may be levied by your government.
We cannot guarantee deliverability or time in transit of your order outside of the U.S. Undeliverable orders will be abandoned in place, but you will still be responsible for paying for them.
